Sept 10, 2017, Lake Oswego, OR — GPLIwire2017, the first virtual CE event focused exclusively on specialty contact lens education, is now approved for both COPE “Interactive” and “Enduring” online course credits.
Participants can earn up to 32 COPE CE credits focused on specialty contact lenses from leading global eye care experts, with all-new lectures and live wet labs, from the comfort of their own homes or offices.
The event will be hosted live online, Saturday, September 23, and Sunday, September 24, 2017. Participants who take the courses during the two-day live period will receive “Interactive Online Course” credits.
For those who cannot attend live, the courses will also be offered on-demand following the live event until December 1, 2017. Participants can log in from any broadband-connected computer or mobile device to take courses and receive credit. Participants who complete the courses during this ‘on demand’ period will receive “Enduring Online” course credit.
Conference registration is $249 for all 32 credits.
In addition to the courses, the conference will feature a virtual exhibit hall where participants can examine the latest technology, receive show discounts, and meet with industry leading specialty contact lens manufacturers.
GPLIwire2017 includes two tracks focused on scleral lenses, ortho-k, custom soft lenses, presbyopia, hybrid lenses, managing ocular conditions with contact lenses, and instruments that help improve specialty contact lens fitting.
Additionally, there will be two “live” wet labs including scleral and ortho-k fittings, and a special two-hour session focused on billing and coding specialty contact lens fittings.
“Most online CE only offers ‘enduring’ credits to participants. But because more states are asking for ‘interactive’ online credits, we took the extra step and got the conference’s courses approved by COPE both ways. This gives conference goers maximal flexibility,” says Dr. Paul Farkas, founder and chief administrator of ODwire.org.
