Too bad they didn't have legal access to marijuana. They could have been using that instead of narcotics and not had to go to jail.

Opiate narcotics are in an entirely different universe than cannibis. Addiction to legal, prescription drugs (specifically opiods) is far and away a larger public health problem in 2015 than "illicit" substances.
