I worked together with Tom during our Illinois TPA legislation initiative. Tom created the masterplan for rolling out our major grass roots effort across the state to finally accomplish what seemed like an impossible task. At the time, Tom had a vision of where we had to go when very few of us really understood the legislative process. I would say that without Tom, it could have easily been 10 years later that we could advance our TPA bill, and probably not with nearly as broad a scope of care.

It was my distinct honor to work under Tom's leadership, and I offer my condolences to his family.

Tom coined a phrase for all of us as he briefed us on our TPA mission and our legislative updates:

"The future is in your hands...Grab hold"
