Private equity firm’s are the biggest threat to Independent Optometry today. It’s no different than selling the practice to Walmart because you are now a commercial practice. Young OD’s who will not consider rural private practice to work strictly urban commercial practice going to find their chances to be independent and be in a non-competitive more dominant market situation gone.
